I’m just starting out with PC gaming and discovered the Neutron 3.0 on Austin Evans’ channel. I’m curious about the operating system—should I stick with Windows 7 or upgrade to Windows 10? It’s unclear if that matters much, but I want to ensure smooth gameplay. My favorite genres include RPGs like FFIV Relm Reborn, Overwatch, and Assassin’s Creed titles. I need to know about DirectX 11, 12, and Vulkan—do I need all three installed? Should I switch between them or keep one active during startup?

I haven’t placed the PSU yet—what do you think is best? (Share a link if you have one.)
This helps me understand more about PC building so I can guide you effectively.

Confirming your understanding—no, it isn’t necessarily ordered from best to worst. The list format doesn’t imply ranking; it just shows the entries in the order they appear.

Sure, opt for a solid T2-3 PSU; Tier1 models tend to be expensive. However, if you locate a more affordable option, that's a great choice.

It’s hard to find Windows 7 support now. You can add all the graphics drivers at once.

Corsair CX550M 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE Haswell is compatible with ATX12V and EPS12V power supplies. This should work well. At around $50, it seems like a solid deal if you're looking for value.
