Hi, I'm posting here as i'm at the end of my sanity. Since some time my PC has the issue where windows freezes up for 1-2 seconds at random intervals. Though one thing i'm noticing is that the task bar starts flickering and for example AIDA64 starts "refreshing" if that makes sense. This flickering also happens with other windows tabs like file explorer etc. Troubleshooting i have done (note this is not the exact order i have done these in): - Memtest86 on Ram + running system on individual stick of ram in different slots - SFC Scan on windows + Reinstall windows - Clean install windows on a spare SSD (256GB Kingston SSD) + Running from this SSD without the HDD connected - Test with another GPU (GigaByte GTX 1080ti) - Tested on each single screen individually - Tested different mouse and keyboard - Checked on windows Performance Recoder + Analyzer to check for Programs misbehaving. So far i have found nothing out of the ordinary nor any misbehaving programs with the performance analyzer. I have not tested putting the SSD in a second system due to me using OCM versions of windows, but i will test if needed. If anyone has any ideas of what the issue may be/ has any suggestions for test i can do i will gladly try them out. That idea might work, but it's unlikely. Screen scaling usually happens inside the game, not outside. You could try altering the frame buffer, but you're not saving frames.
It seems the problem isn't limited to gameplay but also happens outside of it. Usually it appears on the desktop or while browsing, and sometimes during gameplay via certain connections. Right now I'm using the same equipment and storage on another system without any issues, so the fault must be with the faulty desktop itself.
Do you have HWiNFO installed? I’d install it to check if your FCLK is being downclocked and losing synchronization. That issue occurred and was resolved by manually adjusting the FCLK in BIOS rather than relying on Auto. Additionally, AMD offers CBS settings that help secure the FCLK and prevent downclocking.
