I-9 14900K RTX 4080 2TB M.2 32GB x 2 5600 DDR5 Windows 11 64x Home Edition was away for five days. Upon returning, the PC failed to locate an operating system. In BIOS settings, default boot entries appeared with placeholder names, and even when switching to UEFI, no drives showed up in the list. After powering off UEFI, the M.2 slot recognized as a Samsung drive but still couldn’t detect any OS. I attempted a repair using Windows media, but each step failed with unclear errors. A second try also resulted in warnings like “This PC can't run Windows 11” and “Minimum requirements not met.” Everything worked fine when I left. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Verify that secure boot and TPM 2.0 are active in the BIOS; these settings appear to have been disabled.

Both options are active, but the outcome remains the same.

Your EUFI drive might be damaged, causing the system to fail to locate it and generate errors. The UEFI system helps the BIOS identify where partitions are stored. If you're unsure how to fix a corrupted partition, you often resort to clearing the disk and starting fresh with Windows.

If it's a 980 PRO or 990 PRO model, I'd verify whether it has the suicidal firmware if it hasn't been updated. If you can access it via a USB NVME reader but can't write to it, it's likely non-functional. However, you can still transfer data as long as it remains intact. The outcome is that read access becomes disabled until it becomes unreadable.

Eufi mode is needed for the newest version of Windows 11; otherwise, repairs won't work.
