Windows sets the default playback device for audio every time you start your PC. To change it, you need to assign your USB headphones as the primary sound source. Since you're using Win7, look for settings under Sound or Device Manager to reorder the default devices and add your headphones there.

You can simply right-click the chosen playback device and pick "Set as default device" from the available options.

It functions properly and produces clear audio. However, the next time I power on my computer, it reverts to a different setting.

You might want to click disable on that dropdown menu. If you don<|pad|>, those speakers or headphones aren't in use, you could also remove them from your playback device list.

I turned them off. I’ll let you know after the next restart if it helps.

You seemed quiet for a while, so I figured I’d reach out to see if you were still available. Hope you’re doing well!

I haven't powered down my computer yet and I'm studying for school. Luckily, I have the Chrome extension, so I received a desktop notification.
