My computer runs Windows 11 Home by default. Switching to Win 11 Pro means it will still work only on that specific machine unless you install it elsewhere. If you move away from the laptop eventually, you might need to reinstall or adapt it for a desktop setup. It’s understandable if you’re unsure—most people haven’t used Windows before.

You generally attach the key to your Microsoft account and move it to another device https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...3fc72b6665

According to that link, keys are linked to physical devices. Sometimes a motherboard includes a built-in key for home or pro settings, which allows you to reinstall Windows on that unit as long as it matches the same version and activation will work. If you move from home to pro, you’ll need a different key. Transferring Windows to another device requires a new key unless you complete a hardware update, in which case the key must be tied to your Microsoft account.

It seems you're considering getting a key that works across different systems. You might want to purchase a retail Pro version key and swap your current OEM keys instead.
