I attempt fixes but nothing works. I try reinstalling Windows 11 via USB, but return to the same issue. Installing Windows 10 from a USB fails—screen stays blue, no progress. Even with no drives installed, it boots but nothing happens. When no hard drives are present, or only a keyboard and mouse connected, the system still creates a boot image for Windows 10 or 11, yet installation fails. I reset the BIOS but still can’t install. Tried installing from an old DVD, but pressing any key does nothing. Only Linux installs successfully. The PC is four years old, previously functional, now completely unresponsive to Windows. I shut it down normally before and now refuse to boot anything except Linux. Help would be appreciated.

Activate the old startup options or CSM, then turn off secure boot and see if it works. I came across a guide there that might be useful.

I was using Windows 11, so Legacy mode had to be turned off and secure boot must be enabled. However, whether it's active or inactive, for both Windows 10 and 11 it doesn't start or fix the system. If Windows 10 can install, it ends up with a completely blue screen. Windows 11 doesn't even begin to load for installation.

Turn off all unnecessary gadgets like RGB lights, SATA and NVMe storage besides the one you're setting up, fans, and the GPU if it exists. Then attempt the installation.

TPM is turned off but Windows 10 is already installed. To reactivate it, follow the reset steps provided by Microsoft or your device manufacturer.

Sure, I can clarify. Our setup uses either a CPU/MBO card or we can assist in identifying your specific model. The dxdiag tool from the command prompt provides details about your system, including the latest BIOS version. Regarding your disks, the BIOS should recognize them if they are properly connected.

Motherboard Arorus B450 Elite 16GB of Corsair Ram Latest bios Does detect all disks. So with TPM off everything works. With TPM on it says winload.efi is missing, with or without any hard drive or windows on it.
