You can rely on that. If your PC is linked to the internet, it will begin downloading and installing the newest update during setup. Also, before proceeding, try reseating the CPU and RAM to ensure compatibility. Updated December 14, 2017 by Ethocreeper It will handle the updates automatically.

I swapped out the RAM, I’m heading straight to purchase some thermal paste since that’s what the issue is (I suspect I touched the CPU heat spreader).

I applied TIM onto the IHS using my finger. No issues encountered before.
