Windows issues on Ryzen devices
Hello, I just assembled a PC with those components: Ryzen 1600, ASUS B350 Plus, 8GB Crucial Balistx 2666MHz, KFA2 GTX 1060 (3GB). In Windows, my machine crashes unexpectedly and shows a blue screen error. I updated the BIOS and installed all drivers, but it still fails often. I also have an older Windows version and am trying to upgrade now. Temperatures are normal and I haven’t overclocked. What should I do?
It might be necessary to reposition your parts. Ensure the CPU is fully seated, remove the "remove before installation" label, and apply sufficient thermal paste. The CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error indicates issues with core and thread communication. Threads are operations handled by cores, and some cores can manage multiple threads at once. The problem arises when a thread waits for a response from another thread or a core waits for a reply from another core, resulting in the BSoD message. To resolve this, consider using System Restore to revert to a stable state. Be cautious with new hardware that could trigger the issue. If your system boots into Safe Mode, run Driver Reviver to refresh drivers. Windows Update is also recommended; install any missing device drivers. Drivers enable devices like keyboards to function properly, and outdated or misconfigured ones often cause such errors. BIOS updates are available on your motherboard manufacturer’s site and should be applied if needed. If you still cannot access your computer or the error persists, seek assistance from Microsoft or your hardware provider.
