After reinstalling Windows, I encountered an issue where the start menu button didn’t respond. The task bar remained visible and pinned icons functioned properly, but the start button was unresponsive. When a game was running, the task bar stayed at the bottom of the screen despite being pinned. It usually disappeared after a restart, but sometimes it wouldn’t. It always returned to normal after shutdown and startup. It might be related to recent updates, though I’m not certain. The same version 22H2 has been available for an extended period. This is Windows 10, and I often see the shutdown/restart warning message.

I attempted the update five consecutive times last week. The process appears to complete when you restart, but the update still doesn’t seem to install properly.

Have you resolved it already? Otherwise, use the BITS troubleshooter (background intelligent transfer system) to fix Windows updates.
