I've been using my new PC for about two months now. It's running Windows 10 Pro but it hasn't been activated. I'm trying to find affordable keys because I don't want to spend over $100. While researching, I came across a forum thread recommending non-Windows alternatives if you're not ready to pay that much. Should I consider using something other than Windows? If yes, what would be a good option? Since I'm new to different operating systems and mainly plan to play games, I want to make sure I'm making the right choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dealscube and Kinguin are available. You may also choose not to activate them. Note: If you're comfortable with Windows 10, continue using it as DX12 compatibility is limited to that version at the moment.

All games should work smoothly on Windows. For a more demanding experience, consider using Linux with Wine.

I know similar sites exist, but I'm skeptical about Kingpin's credibility in a murky situation. I recall Paul's Hardware suggested it, though after some digging I wouldn't feel confident using them. I haven't located the relevant link, but I saw a thread mentioning someone's Steam code stopped working. They tried support for two weeks before asking for their username and password. I'm still curious about Dealscube but need more details on other operating systems.

I had concerns about compatibility, but I learned others mentioned Valve is actively developing features for SteamOS.
