I previously had trouble installing Windows. I resorted to using Windows 7 (thanks to @Guest 5150), which functioned perfectly. After that, I installed Crysis and everything remained stable. I played for a while, then closed the program, turned it off, and came back with MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures and CPU usage since my system uses a Core 2 Duo 6550 and a GTX 460. It turned out my CPU was a major bottleneck, especially at high settings, because of my 1280x1024 monitor. I performed a modest overclock, raising the clock from 2.4 GHz to 2.97 GHz. After saving and restarting (pressing F10), I faced occasional boot issues. Once I removed an external USB, I encountered a Checksum Error once, but overall it wasn’t too severe. No matter what adjustments I made—re-seating CPU, RAM, GPU, plugging in/unplugging cables, resetting CMOS—I still didn’t get any results. I’ve tried memory slots 2 and 4, then switched to slots 1 and 3, but nothing helped. I’m stuck. What should I do next?

Identify the motherboard brand and model. Ensure data integrity by running a checksum. Looks like the system may be showing issues or instability.
