People are searching for fixes for msconfig and similar tools. None of the online guides have helped so far. The most recent attempt required a full reinstall to recover my memory. Anyone have suggestions for a workaround without a complete system wipe?

7.9GB from a total of 16GB is RAM, external storage, or a hard drive partition. Verify in BIOS that both DIMMs are listed correctly.

Shut down the device and disconnect the power source. Reconnect the RAM and power it on again. Wipe the CMOS memory and restart Windows. Check if the issue resolves.

Launch msconfig, navigate to the "Boot" section -> Advanced Settings. Ensure all options are unchecked, click OK, then reboot the computer. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, verify whether you installed any software claiming to treat RAM as a disk, such as certain SSD utilities or applications. Disable that option and restart again.

Sure, I've completed the task and the outcomes remain consistent after restarting.

That refers to storing data temporarily for quick access, similar to how a hard drive functions.

No success. Time is still much longer. I'm planning to restart it.
