Another setup on a separate W10 version with a different patch (currently May Cumulative) works the same. My laptop, matching this PC’s build and patch level, displays real performance. I’m unsure what affects the numbers—maybe the motherboard’s speed reporting varies—but it doesn’t always match across systems, which makes me doubt its reliability. CPU-Z consistently shows accurate speeds, so I recommend using that tool instead.
Windows Task Manager doesn't accurately display RAM speed. I'm currently overclocking my memory...at the moment. I configured it in BIOS to DDR4-3400, but it didn't work. The motherboard tried to boot using the timings I set manually, and it loaded into Windows at DDR4-2800. Task Manager believed the RAM was running at 3400 MHz when it wasn't.
