I installed Windows with care as a side project alongside my Ubuntu setup. The NVIDIA driver caused a boot loop, making all my custom BIOS settings unusable. It forced a BIOS update. Can I find a solution to stop Windows from doing this? My BIOS needs to stay intact or else it won’t work at all.

Never encountered a situation where an operating system directly bypasses the user to modify BIOS settings. The BIOS operates at a level separate from Windows, and while updates are sometimes needed for new features or hardware, they typically don’t let the OS alter BIOS configurations automatically. This behavior seems more suspicious—could indicate malware rather than legitimate system actions?

Certainly other manufacturers release BIOS updates via the Windows update mechanism. Typically, after such an update, settings revert to their standard configuration.

Windows doesn't engage in any hacking activities. UEFI supports updates through the operating system. The motherboard produces and OEMs distribute UEFI using Windows Update. Review your motherboard/UEFI settings and user guide to turn off this option.
