Hey, I tried setting up a new PC. The Windows installation keeps freezing at 42% on a black screen. I've been working on it for two weeks and nothing seems to work. I replaced the SSD (M.2), upgraded the CPU, ran a memory test with MemTest86, updated the BIOS, but still nothing. I took it to Best Buy—they didn’t understand what was happening. Help is needed.

You might want to download Windows onto your flash drive for backup, portability, or testing purposes. It allows you to carry your operating system with you and use it offline.

However, the real reason remains unclear. It doesn't match what the questioner is seeking.

Have you considered recreating the installation files or using another USB drive for the installation?

I've repeatedly attempted to rework it. I don't have another USB drive.

Consider investing in another USB stick. You might also experiment with Rufus to write the ISO onto the drive instead of using the Windows 11 media creation utility. (Download the ISO first, then use Rufus to generate bootable media.) -- This approach differs from what @thrasher_565 discussed. Are your PC and Windows 11 fully compatible? (Check if TPM is enabled in the BIOS)

I'm not sure about TPM. A USB stick needs to be purchased later, like when using Rufus to make a bootable drive.

TPM is a necessity for Windows 11. It mainly enhances your device's security against interference, particularly when paired with full disk encryption. On newer systems it should be included (commonly referred to as fTPM), but it’s wise to verify it’s active in the BIOS settings. What are your specifications? (usually found in the BIOS under 'platform' or 'security') Yes. (this presumes you’ve been using the official Microsoft installer; if you relied only on rufus, consider switching to the Microsoft media creation tool)
