Windows installation from a USB stick isn't supported.
Hello everyone, welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read my first post. My main concern right now is that I’m replacing a faulty HDD with a new one (which has been tested) and trying to run Windows 7 using Rufus via USB. I see a strange green dot appear during the boot process on the USB. The old HDD works perfectly in Windows, but the new one is slow and doesn’t install properly. I’ve tried different file systems like Fat32, NTFS, MBR, and GPT on the USB. Nothing works. The BIOS recognizes the USB but the HDD still boots fine. I’m really stuck and would appreciate any advice from anyone who might have faced this issue before. Thanks!
BIOS is outdated and can't be updated to support GPT. Have you tried using USB on another computer to ensure it boots properly? Find out when this issue arises—can you choose to boot from USB and proceed? Where did you obtain the Win7 ISO?
