It seems like an OEM key. If it doesn’t activate, it’s a loss. You’ll need to pay for it.

Verify your license type—OEM or Retail. This information appears in System Properties: The Product ID shows "OEM" for an original key, otherwise it's a retail license. OEM licenses are linked to the motherboard at activation and cannot be moved; you'll need a new license for a different board.
