Press the prominent blue button labeled HIDE. Also enable your windows, and avoid acting like a scout.

However, the pop-up is bothersome at times.

I've never encountered that alert before; it seems to work on its own. I don't understand how it functions, but it might be possible to turn it off.

Turn off the pop-ups in Windows settings? I haven’t seen a Windows 10 pop-up before on my computer, except during the upgrade from Windows 8 where the pop-up appeared.

If only you refreshed your Windows version this year, it wouldn’t appear and would adapt to your needs instead of hindering them. Frustrating Windows. Why does it feel like MS DOS? A new update? I should purchase those floppy disks that will fail by the time I get home because of the clever design pushing me to buy again! But seriously. Adjust your Active Hours in Windows, configure Maintenance in Windows, let updates run outside your Active Hours, turn on the reminder before restart, and consider throttling settings. You’ll avoid those annoying pop-ups and random restarts.

I assessed your issue and suggest this approach: https://www.ubuntu.com. Reminder: ensure you save any crucial information before upgrading to the new system.

He shows no interest in updating his operating system regularly, and it's typical that open source projects are still in beta testing. A useful strategy to encourage participation is offering a stable, thoroughly tested solution. He seeks reliability similar to what many businesses rely on for their backend systems, without requiring ongoing support. He prefers solutions like CentOS (based on RedHat Enterprise) which provides robustness and security.
