Windows fails to start without disabling TPM?
I've been dealing with this problem for a long time and haven't found a suitable solution. I initially believed it might be related to the MBR/GPT, but after checking, it was already set up as GPT. This issue occurs not just with pre-installed Windows, but also with bootable installation media.
I've tried several steps:
- Resetting BIOS by removing the CMOS battery and RAM sticks
- Reinstalling Windows, but the USB drive still required TPM to be enabled
- Using a different USB drive
- Switching Secure Boot on/off and resetting the secure boot keys
Here are my system details:
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700
MB: Asus TUF B450 Pro
RAM: G Skill 2x8 16GB 3200Mhz
GPU: RTX 2060 6GB
Storage: 1TB kingstone M.2 and 500GB Crucial SATA SSD
OS: Windows 10 LTSC 2021

Oops! Unless you're a corporate or business user, I suspect you don't have a legitimate license to use LTSC.
That said, Windows 10 doesn't "need" secure boot or TPM, so apart from the somewhat increased security, why bother with TPM? Just leave it switched off.
The I/O error points to a hardware issue with a storage device. It isn't related to TPM. The problem might stem from a loose connection or a defective storage device.
I've attempted to disconnect both M.2 and SATA connections, but the result remains unchanged.
You might be right. There are likely other concerns too. LTSC is meant for specialized systems—if you believe you're setting up a "bloat-free" or fully supported version of Win10 for gaming and various home PC tasks, you're misunderstanding the purpose. You'll encounter many incompatibilities. The main goal is simply to enhance security and quality without altering existing configurations. In short, it doesn’t modify anything; it only addresses security and reliability for systems that don’t require changes. So, generally either (a) it functions correctly out of the box without any adjustments, or (b) it isn’t suitable for your needs, and don’t worry about licensing issues.
I use it because I don't want to deal with micriosoft ai bs bloat that keeps growing every day. Besides the anti-cheat issue with Faceit, I've managed to install MS Store and games on it. I haven't mentioned how Windows 11 has become extremely resource-intensive.
