Windows fails to start after upgrading the processor.

Hello! I changed my Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 7 3700X and managed to access the UEFI. However, I’m stuck on booting into Windows. My Windows 10 is running on a M.2 SSD. When I power on the PC, I see this warning: "New CPU installed, fTMP NV corrupted of fTPM NV structure changed. Press Y to reset fTPM..." Since I don’t have Bitlocker or encryption active, I pressed Y. The system says it won’t boot without a recovery key and suggests keeping the old fTMP data if you want to continue. If you’re not using Bitlocker or similar security features, you should be able to recover your keys by switching back to the previous CPU. Let me know what happens next!

The M.2 storage is being identified in UEFI. I put Linux Mint on a USB stick to confirm everything remains intact. It functioned properly, allowing me to boot from the USB.

Additionally, I reinstalled the previous CPU. The same issue occurred again.

There might be a loose link between the M.2 port. If not, consider swapping it with another slot. Additionally, the CPU may behave oddly within the UEFI/BIOS—verify that the boot device is active in the BIOS settings during Windows startup.

The drive is detected in BIOS. However, when I try to boot from m.2 it prompts “insert boot device and press any key.” Re-seating the m.2 didn’t help and my motherboard only has one m.2 port. I’m using an MSI B350 M.2 Pro-VDH.

Someone might think TPM is needed for Windows to start, but the CPU itself holds the key. The reason it doesn’t work with the old CPU could be because the hardware or firmware settings changed, preventing the system from recognizing it.
