Computer details: Ryzen 9 3950x, Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2 sticks), Asrock x370 Taichi (BIOS version 5.80 approx), Aorus GTX 1080TI 11G, Corsair RM850w, Windows 10 Pro 64bit (latest update?).
Hey everyone, I returned from the house last weekend and my PC won’t boot into Windows. When I power it on, some devices turn on but then shut off instantly—they don’t come back. Once fully on, the boot screen appears with the Asrock logo and BIOS menu. Eventually, Windows orbs show up (sometimes with a repair prompt), then the GPU lights turn off and the monitor goes idle while the PC sits in what looks like sleep mode.
What I’ve tried:
- Re-seating the GPU and RAM
- Swapping in an Asus GTX 1080TI 11G
- Using a different keyboard and mouse
- Booting in safe mode
- Turning off the PC (power button doesn’t work even when pressed)
This has happened several times in the past few months. Usually resetting it to factory settings fixes it, but recently it didn’t. After many restarts, it still boots randomly with the same components. I’ve accessed BIOS twice and once it worked fine, but the problem keeps coming back. No clear link to any of the fixes I’ve tried—it only seems to work when I boot completely normally. If you need more details or want to clarify anything, just let me know and I’ll do my best.

It's common on most motherboards to disconnect the PC from the power source, remove the CR2032 cell battery from the board, let it sit for about five minutes, then reinstall the battery and power on the system.
