Windows fails to recognize SATA SSD due to compatibility or driver issues.
Hi, your SATA SSD isn’t showing up in Windows anymore. You’ve already checked connections and even tried using another system to confirm the drive was alive, which suggests the problem isn’t with the SSD itself or its power supply. It could be something else like a faulty SATA cable, a bad port on your motherboard, or even an issue with the M.2 slot setup. Since everything else worked fine before, it might be worth testing the drive with a different cable or checking the physical connections again.
Occasionally a second M.2 will disable certain SATA ports, so test one with a detected drive or try taking out the second M.2 to check if it comes back.
Reviewed the motherboard manual to identify which SATA ports remain free while both M.2 slots are occupied and connected properly; the drive was recognized again smoothly. Discovered I no longer have any free SATA ports for extra drives, though this setup works fine. Appreciate your assistance.
