I've recently installed a new system using an Intel i7-13700K and MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI. Windows setup isn't recognizing the NVMe drive. In BIOS, Intel VMD is turned off while Samsung PRO 980 appears in M2_1. I made a live Ubuntu USB, which also detects the NVMe drive and installed Ubuntu 22 without issues. Unfortunately, I'd like to try Windows 11 as a dual-boot for gaming. My old SSD with Windows10 isn't detected as a bootable device either. During Windows 11 installation, when no devices were found, I attempted to install NVMe drivers and Windows accepted my SSD as an option. Anyone noticed this behavior before? Is there a way to get Windows 11 to work properly?

I come from an environment without Windows devices, since my work computer runs Linux and macOS. I couldn't use a Windows assistant to make a bootable USB, so I downloaded the ISO file and used dd to transfer it onto a USB drive. Taking a borrowed Windows laptop and following their setup guide, I recreated the installation steps, and suddenly everything appeared. This could be useful for others facing similar challenges.

When this problem arises later, make sure to install the correct drivers and load them during setup for the relevant devices. It seems the solution was successful when you made a bootable USB using your Windows laptop, as it fetched the drivers online at that time.
