Windows fails to apply updates during a registry edit.
I'm adjusting the settings in the specified directory. The value changes to the previous version, but it restarts each time the system powers off. Your PC is configured with full access for all users.
I haven't worked with registry editing before, but from what I see in the directory, it looks like you're attempting to reduce the kernel version. Are you sure this is what you intended?
Certain registry entries are meant for programs to collect system details, such as these examples. You can't modify their values. Each time Windows starts, it writes or updates them automatically. Microsoft handles this so programs can retrieve basic system info without fully using WMI for trivial queries like OS versions.
It seems like the issue might relate to the kernel. Avoid making changes unless you understand them. There could be alternative approaches, but I’m not aware of any. Consider creating a new thread for this question.
