No Blu-ray driver exists since operating systems treat it like a DVD drive. What really counts is the software and the device that handles Blu-rays. Another clever step from Microsoft is that even the latest Windows Media Player versions can play Blu-ray files. Luckily, several Blu-ray players are now available in the Microsoft Store. It seems the old Groove Music Player, once installed, could play them too.

I own some programs meant to identify Blurays and interact with them, but none do anymore—they didn’t last even once. To be honest, back then Windows would treat the Blu-ray file like a disk you can drag around, but now it just stops without loading it into the system at all. I’m sure the drive is still functional and has been before.

I think Macs might not support Blu-ray anymore because the drives could be outdated, yet they still work with DVDs.

I think you managed to get it running with Blu-rays on your Mac, especially since you used some older Blu-ray tools. It seems you worked on Windows too, but I’m not sure how you achieved that on your Mac years ago.
