I frequently launch THE FINALS and it crashes during shader compilation without clear cause. Error messages display as CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. It's strange how things began when I switched to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. I assumed the problem was with the power supply, so I replaced it. For about a month, I had no issues until it happened again today. My system specs include a Ryzen 7 9800X3D RTX 5080 with 64GB DDR5 6000MT, Aorus PRO ICE X870E 1300W PSU (two units), and a 990 PRO Samsung SSD with 2TB each. Honestly, I’m unsure what to do now. I’ll test another CPU just in case—I have a dump file ready for sharing in the comments. IMG_6110.MP4
Sure, I can attempt to disable the Nvidia overlay within the Nvidia application.
Prior to replacing my power supply, the system would freeze during every game. Nowadays, it only fails with this specific title. I’m willing to test it. It’s still used frequently.
The initial issue in your video involves an Nvidia overlay problem. Is the 5080 a brand-new release, or was it installed into an older version?
Regarding the window installation, is it still current? Have you replaced the SSD or HDD?
Sure thing. Everything was brand new. I even reinstalled Windows and cleared everything after swapping the PSU. It all functioned until recently. I’m not sure if it’s the Nvidia overlay or something else. Perhaps it’s just Windows crashing and wiping out my processes. I recall seeing that warning message with WallpaperEngine too. I didn’t use it again afterward, but BSODs still happened. I believe it targets all my programs before they crash and display the error screen. This is quite old—I was able to download this photo of one of those issues as an example.
