Hello, I'm assembling a new PC and downloading Windows 10 from the site. I used the setup tool and uploaded it to a 16GB USB drive. Once the files are downloaded, I reached the "creating Windows 10 media" stage, but the download stalled at 50%. It's still stuck after an hour. Any advice?

Do you have a non-Windows device where you can install the ISO straight away? Visiting https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software...ndows10ISO on such a system lets you download the ISO directly without needing the media creation utility. It provides an equivalent MSDN ISO (without encryption), allowing you to generate a bootable USB drive using tools like Rufus (https://rufus.akeo.ie/). This seems to be the most effective method for obtaining a reusable, manageable image for installing Windows. The only alternative is to use Resource Monitor to check if the download is just paused or if the transfer itself has stopped—look at the network section and see if any activity is occurring. If the process halts completely, you may need to restart and try again.
