You're dealing with an issue where mouse movements work but clicks aren't responding in certain areas. Some actions like closing or minimizing windows, or starting menus, don't trigger the expected responses. You've tried checking drivers, using another mouse, and reinstalling Windows. The problem seems to be specific to the environment or settings. Have others encountered similar issues? What steps have they taken?

You switched to another USB port but it didn’t help. Have you considered using a different mouse? Which one are you currently using?

Tried another mouse with a limited budget. It's possible they don't have the specific model details.

The motherboard lacks a PS/2 port for a mouse.

Because I’m unsure of your mouse model, I can’t advise specific actions. However, my Corsair Razor works fine when the button doesn’t respond properly; usually there’s an obstruction preventing it. I’ve disassembled it several times and stored the components in the garage for cleaning with an air compressor. You might try blowing it out that way too? It could help. Good luck, and don’t hesitate to ask if you need more guidance.
