All appears fine. The Device Manager identifies the SD card reader correctly as a USB mass storage device, which is typical.

It seems unclear whether SD cards have a dedicated security feature or if they're treated as temporary storage. That might affect compatibility. Your usual USB drives function correctly, which is reassuring.

Tomorrow came and the issue persisted. I checked Lenovo's site and tried multiple drivers—Intel serial IO, Intel chipset, Intel storage—and nothing helped, even after restarting the laptop. Later, I tested on the same USB port inside a Windows 10 virtual machine, which resolved the problem.

You've checked manually giving the SD card a drive letter, but it still doesn't show up in Disk Manager. No other partitions or drives are assigned letters either.
