I'm using Windows 10 with the creator update and ESET Smart Security. The security software is always active, but after startup the firewall (Windows Defender) often turns off, and sometimes the virus protection also shuts down. I can restore them easily, but should I do it? ESET doesn't display any warnings when the firewall appears to be off while Windows Defender shows it as disabled.

You already possess a top-tier antivirus solution, making Windows Defender and firewall requirements unnecessary.

Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are essential for Windows 10; disabling either will prevent the software from running. The ESET security you use typically includes firewall protection, making the Windows Firewall redundant as well. Avoid running two antivirus programs simultaneously.

It seems the main issue is Windows Defender activating unexpectedly. The software is meant to shut down automatically if another antivirus is present, which is the expected behavior.

I verified once more and the configuration indicates ESET handles security, suggesting Windows Defender isn’t functioning properly. I’m just confirming there’s a firewall active.
