Windows Defender has issues accessing settings.
Newly organized SSD paired with Windows 10 Pro. After installing drivers and restoring games, I’m trying to enable Vindictus but face issues. Windows Defender blocks me from adjusting settings. Clicking settings brings up the control panel, which then closes instantly. I’ve seen a related video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znUZy_AiQ5E
When attempting to run a free antivirus, be aware that it may conflict with Windows' built-in protection. You might need to create an exception for it to work.
I assumed you had to turn it off manually beforehand. You’d need that with built-in antivirus like Windows Defender. I haven’t used Windows Defender until Windows 10. However, I do have Kaspersky installed on the motherboard utility CD and can access it.
I believe a manual exception creation within the firewall might work, provided Windows 10 is compatible. I'm currently awaiting further updates and bug fixes before proceeding.
Hey, it seems they combined things without thinking. This bunch of controls is really confusing. Even trying to fix it with an exception doesn’t help since the defender panel remains faulty. Installing another antivirus didn’t work and gave an unknown error.
