Up until now, I’m confident I resolved the issue completely. On my laptop it didn’t reappear, but on my desktop it did again. I decided to postpone everything at once to avoid triggering this problem. I’m unsure which web browser you use, but the first advice I followed came from a few online sources—resetting all your browsers to their default settings helped others solve similar problems. I mainly use Firefox, Edge, and Chrome, switching between them based on the task. After that, I installed Bitdefender (free version). I’m not sure if it detected this particular Trojan, since each time it found it it would remove it. Now that Bitdefender is my primary antivirus, I don’t expect it to prevent future occurrences. From what I’ve learned, browser issues often relate to cached data or stored files online. I’m not certain where it came from, but I haven’t found much information about this exact problem online. Others on forums are sharing similar experiences, so you might want to reset all your browsers and try BleachBit with cookies, history, temporary files cleared. Just proceed carefully—don’t delete anything without understanding what you’re doing.

Thank you for your message. Appreciate your honesty. I use only Firefox and just cleared my system this morning to confirm. I’m wondering if any of that trouble or virus remains on other drives. So I’ll try the tool suggested in this thread. Thanks again, everyone. I’m also curious about the origin of this problem and why there’s so little information online. Appreciate your help.

I'm also curious about how I ended up here. I avoid sketchy websites and don't use pirated programs. I never click on links in emails, even if I'm certain they're safe. I've always been very careful, so I rarely used anything beyond Windows Defender with Bitdefender's free version. It was always free, then the free option was removed and later reintroduced. However, I decided to go ahead and purchase the full security suite for two years and five devices for $30 at Best Buy. The only possible reason this situation occurred was visiting a site that lets you download an offline MP4 version of a YouTube video. Apart from that, I have no clue where this came from.
