Recently I began playing Valorant which needs Secure Boot activated before launching. I checked online and found out my PC hasn’t enabled Secure Boot yet (Windows 11, MSI b450 Pro M2 Max, R5 3500, Corsair 16GB). It functions normally when turned on, but if I restart or switch to CSM after turning it off, the system boots back instead of UEFI. To fix this, I manually enter BIOS each time before playing and disable CSM then restart. Is there a way to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Ensure your drive is in GPT format before disabling it. If it isn’t, there’s no need to turn it back on. Keep secure boot active. Disable only when necessary, such as during a dual-boot setup.

Windows won't do it, but your BIOS will if your boot device isn't GPT/EFI or you have outdated PCIe cards like a GPU that can't handle UEFI.

You confirmed the boot drive uses GPT format. Despite that, the game launcher shows a warning that Secure Boot is disabled, even though the system runs in UEFI. This issue only appears after a full reboot, requiring you to repeat the process multiple times to access the game.

The system includes an 1660 Super and it appears to work with UEFI.

Are your additional BIOS configurations affected during a cold start? A failing BIOS battery might cause the BIOS to revert to defaults just after power is turned off.

Check your motherboard's current BIOS version to see if it matches the latest update available.

Beyond the CSM and secure boot features, I haven’t seen any other adjustments after a cold reboot. However, occasionally during POST, the CPU settings appear to shift, which I tend to ignore.

The displayed date and time are shown. The CPU setting change is unusual—consider re-seating it. Possible issues include loose contacts or a faulty motherboard.
