I assembled a fresh PC, assuming my Microsoft account was tied to Windows so logging in would trigger activation. But the troubleshooter flagged recent hardware changes, so I entered my PIN and received a message about server unavailability. I thought updating to the latest version might help. Now even the troubleshooter isn’t responding. Anyone have advice? There’s no way to type with a real person—this is ******** goddamn Microsoft! The “GET HELP” option also doesn’t work after the update. Just asking, do I need to reinstall Windows and switch to an SSD?

Could we avoid phone activation instead? It bothers me to have to do that, but it seems to function properly.

Yes, you contact them and receive a message with a link to your phone that you use for entering the code, or you can follow the traditional method of typing the code and using the phone directly at https://www.thewindowsclub.com/activate-...8-by-phone

Sure, I can help with that. Just let me know where you'd like the key inserted.

the option to modify the product key appears here, but it's located inside the "Buy from the store" section. I'm stuck—just trying to apply my old Windows 10 and set it up.

It seems you want to modify something, but the instructions are a bit unclear. Could you clarify what you'd like changed? Remember, they designed this interface to guide you through specific steps.

Microsoft is truly amazing! They understand that this is my computer, so when I try to activate it, they tell me it won’t work and I need to wait. Then there’s a hidden link to purchase it!

If the message indicates waiting, extend the time slightly. The troubleshooter for updates may assist since activation relies on similar services.

Technicians from Windows support managed my PC from a distance and resolved the issue. I wasn’t able to fix it on my own.
