Hi, after starting Windows, I quickly opened my browser, Discord, and a game. Almost right away, the game reported a kernel mode heap corruption error. Once I switched back to Windows and began troubleshooting, I found no corrupt files—running sfc /scannow didn’t fix anything, and all my drivers were up to date. I’m confused because I ran the memory diagnostic tool without any errors. I’m really unsure where to begin and would appreciate your help!

Before executing sfc /scannow, perform a DISM repair. Open Event Viewer, filter for Critical and Error entries, and note the failures listed in the General tab. Search online for those specific issues to check if others have resolved them.

OS detected a power loss or BSOD, then restarted. Check the version from Bugcheck or error logs before doing a kernel-power.

Encountered a volmgr issue just before the kernel powered on, indicating a problem with your storage device. The issue likely stems from a disk failure.

My SSD is brand new, but it seems like your 4-year-old HDD could be acting up—maybe it's not working properly. Your OS on the HDD doesn't look off.

Replicating the issue would help determine if it's consistent or random. Adjusting the system and repeating the action should clarify whether the problem persists.

Certainly, windows complicate things for me and occur unpredictably. Fortunately, nothing like that happened today.

You can try installing Seatools, then use the Extended Selftest for a SMART evaluation. After that, check the information in CrystalDiskInfo.
