Windows adjusts its size for each game I play.
Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue where the games keep scaling unexpectedly, even though the monitor resolution matches the game settings. In theory, this shouldn’t happen. However, adjusting the desktop size and position in NVCP makes the games feel different each time. I suspect scaling might be the cause. For instance, using GPU scaling makes games run slower, while display scaling seems to make them feel faster. It’s confusing and unsettling.
I have a few potential reasons I’m considering:
- High-dpi override (my monitor is a Dell G2723H with 27" resolution at 1920x1080, though it isn’t a high DPI model) – an idea from NVIDIA support.
- Disabling fullscreen optimization.
- Setting the Windows size to 100% and then changing it again.
- Using different game modes or display settings.
- The monitor’s presentation mode.
I’m planning to test these myself, but I’m unsure what the correct setup should be. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Update: I’ve tried disabling fullscreen optimization and high-dpi override, but it hasn’t resolved the issue.
Thank you!
Thank you for your response! I saved drivers from the dell website but noticed they are not the latest version.
