I own an older Dell Dimension XPS T500 that runs for old games and programs. My uncle mentioned he has several functional IDE hard drives available—he wants me to use one of them. I’m curious about the drive or partition restrictions in Windows 98, especially since that version had known problems with storage devices. I’m not focusing on hardware issues but rather on how Windows handled those drives back then.

I believe the size is around 2,032GB (approximately 2TB), though I'm uncertain if it's linked to FAT32, MBR, or another factor. Edit: http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_max...Windows_98

When selecting several IDE drives, remember to set them up correctly during connection. I recommend using the jumpers to set both drives as "Cable Select," ensuring the connected drive becomes the master and the others the slave.

I recalled having a 200GB WD Caviar hard drive from an old computer. After wiping it, I installed it in my Dell system. It appears to recognize the drive, but according to the documentation, it only shows up as 137GB.

The original Maxtor hard drive was installed on Master. I added the test 200GB drive to the cable selection alongside it, and everything functions properly.
