Windows 95 designates a particular folder as a network share.
Due to some issue, the W95 machine fails to recognize specific folders on a network drive. XP and newer systems map it correctly. I'm attempting to map from a Windows machine. The current mapping looks like: \\share_name\database$\test_folder while W95 maps to \\share_name\database$ xp+ machines mapping to \\share_name\database$\test_folder
windows 95 and earlier systems use distinct methods to map network folders and often need additional authentication. They rely on NTLMv2 protocols, enabling connections to newer shares while requiring an update to Windows 95 for the user "vivian_zhou". The relevant guidance was posted in a forum thread from 2017, so the information should still be accessible.
