I attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 but faced repeated failures. I read that ensuring Windows 8.1 was fully updated helped, though installing and restarting caused issues with the updates reverting. I downloaded, installed, and tried to apply them repeatedly, but only a few were successful. Running the Windows Update Diagnostic each time didn’t resolve the problem. The official support pages seem unhelpful. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Ensure your system runs smoothly. Malware and viruses can prevent updates from installing. You can obtain the ISO file directly from Microsoft’s website using their Installer Media Creation tool. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 Install the appropriate ISO based on your Windows version—8.1 Non Pro, 10 Home, or another architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). If your operating system was bundled with the hardware, it may have come pre-installed as Windows 8.1 in a single language. To verify, open My Computer, right-click, select Properties, and check the edition under Windows version. After downloading the correct ISO, you can burn it to a DVD or transfer it to a USB drive. Use Setup.exe to upgrade to Windows 10. Feel free to share any questions or issues you encounter!

Thanks for your patience. I’ve reviewed everything again and reached 37% before the installation stops, showing an error. It seems the Windows 10 setup didn’t complete properly. I checked possible fixes, but changing the language or other adjustments haven’t resolved the issue. Let me know if you’d like further troubleshooting steps.

From an ISO file via USB, and also around 33% when I run a console command for Windows Update to download and install

It usually requires 2 to 3 days of effort. Stop pushing—there might be an issue with the current 8.1 setup. Consider a clean reinstall of 8.1 and then apply all necessary updates. It's a good idea to scan for bad sectors on the HDD before proceeding. After updating 8.1 to version 10, everything should be up to date.

I was just delaying it because it was a hassle, but then I saw your comment. Thanks for the assistance, everyone!

You recently attempted a fresh Windows 8.1 setup from a disc, but it stopped after 98%. What could be causing this issue?

Not sure about that. Let's investigate the system.
