I've been skipping the 8.1 upgrade for a while, but today it asked me to restart my PC so it could install. Is Microsoft pushing the upgrade or does it have a built-in delay? I think it would download slowly when the system was idle.

I skipped it for a while after hearing about mouse problems in many games. Today I've been playing several titles and haven't encountered any, which seems like a positive outcome.

It's interesting how I didn't pay much attention until I learned about the fixes. Now that this has come up, many are saying 8.1 is fine and wishing everyone had come out sooner.

It seems you're asking if your computer installed Windows 8.1 automatically and whether you were using Windows 7 or 8 beforehand.

I was on version 8, and the PC prompted me to restart during a game so it could finish installing after downloading. No need for reminders—just restart now or in a few hours.
