Hey there, I see you're trying to figure out why explorer.exe is using a lot of resources. It might be stuck or having too many files in the temp folder. Restarting it again didn’t help, so maybe check for updates or run a cleanup tool. If the issue persists, consider checking your disk space or running a virus scan.

Your HDD has a bad sector issue? Some folders might be loading slowly. Windows may attempt to read from the disk but time out, making Explorer slow while it waits for something to appear.

The changes have decreased recently. I haven’t made any adjustments, so I’m unsure what caused this.

When I first turned on my laptop after a long period of inactivity, the Windows indexing service activated and began scanning the drive. This caused a noticeable increase in CPU usage until it completed. I’m not sure if it was running under explorer.exe, but the SSD on my machine seems to have resolved the issue.
