Hello everyone using Windows 8.1. I recently downloaded the Windows 8.1 update 1 Enterprise from MSDN and installed it, but I encountered several issues that remain unresolved. Here are the problems I've noticed: 1. The task bar disappears after two seconds in the modern UI and never reappears. 2. Selecting two or more apps requires pressing the Ctrl key before selecting. 3. Moving multiple apps demands holding the Ctrl key during the action. 4. Closing Metro apps causes an immediate jump to the desktop without navigating through the task bar. These are the bugs I've identified so far... Do you all experience similar issues? Is this the intended behavior of Microsoft's update, or is there something missing? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I've never come across any of these... unusual things. By the way, holding down control to pick multiple items is how it's supposed to work.

I don't have Update 1 yet. As I await the general available/official release on Monday, so there is no point to get too excited to get it before hand. But, I am not ignorant on Update 1. If you move the mouse down at the bottom of the screen, the task bar should appear by itself. It's set to be auto-hiding. Isn't that normal? I don't understand.

Open the explorer again and check if it resolves your issue...

You asked about the source of your OS download. You received it from a physical DVD, which you purchased, and also got the OS key when purchasing your PC parts.

The taskbar fails to show when I move my mouse to the bottom of the screen. This seems like a bug. Before the update, right-clicking an app would select it, then without pressing Ctrl, clicking another app would both deselect and select it. Now I need to click one app, drag it anywhere. If I want to move both apps, I must press Ctrl and then move. When closing a metro app, I expect a redirect to the modern UI but instead I land on the desktop with nothing selected in the taskbar settings.

Switching to desktop is the standard setting in Windows 8.1 Update 1 on a desktop. When you need to return to the start screen after closing an app, this option should resolve the issue. Click the taskbar, select properties, then go to Navigation and uncheck the related option. Regarding control and movement problems, the same results occur on my system, indicating normal operation.

That's exactly what I said earlier—it's the choice that isn't verified, but it still feels a bit odd to go to the desktop.
