Windows 8.1 needs the PC name to log in.
I experimented with some Windows Server 2012 features and decided to try the Server Connector. I didn’t need a separate user account for accessing the server or its resources, so I removed the update from my Windows 8.1 copy. However, when logging in, it still prompts for a username and password. I can log in but must enter the computer name, local account name, and password each time. What options do I have to resolve this?
Would you like your computer to log in automatically upon startup? See the guide here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/...dows-8.htm
Currently, you need to enter "[Computer Name][username]" and the password again. The password entry should now be the same as before installing the Windows Server Connector, even though the software was uninstalled and seems problematic.
