I recently updated to version 8.1 and began moving shortcut locations in the Explorer to my DATA drive where they originally resided in 7. It might have been due to a simple typo, resulting in a Music folder appearing from the Downloads folder. When I attempt to reposition either folder, it automatically swaps their positions. In This PC view, I see six folders—Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, and... Music? If my responses become tense, remember I might have lost my entire 100GB music collection.

I located everything ranging from A to D in the Recycle bin, up to 10gb. It looks like that’s where it all ended, though the limit probably matched the folder size.
