Use Ctrl+Alt+Del to access the Task Manager, or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open it immediately. If the taskbar appears, right-click it and select "Close window" until it reports "Program is not responding," then proceed to terminate it. Also, try pressing Alt+F4.

I used Ctrl + Alt + Del to launch it, but it doesn’t bring up the task manager. Anything from the bottom bar makes my mouse vanish behind transparent focus. Pressing Alt + F4 didn’t help either. I only have one monitor, and all others in my house aren’t compatible.

Did you perform a clean installation of version 8.1? Have you obtained the latest system drivers? Did you add every required dependency?
