Windows 8.1 Explorer Issue
Windows 8.1 Explorer Issue
Windows Explorer in version 8.1 becomes unstable periodically. The interface and toolbar stop functioning, windows on the toolbar malfunction, time display freezes or stops, background images vanish and turn black. Halting explorer.exe and restarting resolves the problem until the next crash. After an upgrade from Win8 to 8.1, the M$ site blocks downloading the 8.1 ISO needed for repair. Clearing Win8 is not an option. Can you find a safe method to obtain the 8.1 ISO or another repair approach?
You can perform an on-site setup to fix your Windows 8.1: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/260...s-8-a.html Here are the instructions for obtaining the Windows 8.1 ISO: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/183...reate.html
The update fails since the installation is faulty. My upgrade code isn’t working for the 8.1 ISO.
With a valid Windows 8 key, you can obtain the .iso file from any source and set it up, then activate it using that key. If activation fails, contact Microsoft for reactivation. If this is merely an upgrade key, reinstalling Windows 8 and upgrading to 8.1 may be possible, though the process will take a significant amount of time. I think if you have a Windows install disk, you can fix your installation. Avoid refreshing—there should be a "repair" option during the boot from the install media.
I understand you can obtain the ISO from a torrent site. To verify its safety, cross-check the SHA1 with the one found on the MSDN website: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscri...0&FileId=0. Once you’ve downloaded the correct version, use a SHA1 checker to confirm it matches the reference. For a non-professional Windows 8.1 system, you can proceed with these SHA1 values: Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions) (x86) - DVD (English); Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions) (x64) - DVD (English). With the ISO ready, you can perform an in-place repair install using the method described earlier. If needed, activate your phone to re-enable the key at http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/246...phone.html
