Windows 8.1 encountered a crash or error.
You're asking about troubleshooting steps for a Windows issue. What error code 62 means, whether it shows during startup, if the window has a title, or if it relates to your motherboard's LCD display. It seems you're checking for a Windows 8/8.1 installation disc, safe mode behavior, graphics driver problems, and possible system restore solutions. The resolution could be affected by missing drivers or similar causes. Consider booting into safe mode and using the latest restore point, or trying to install from the disc if needed. Let me know what hardware you have for more specific guidance.
It appears on my motherboard and sometimes powers up, then restarts itself in a loop. I discovered that opening a program doesn’t cause it to restart immediately but lets it restart later. My ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER board isn’t overclocked. The installation disc is missing from my house, and I’ve been searching for it. I sometimes see error messages on my screen, asking to restart, but pressing it causes the display to switch to a strange resolution and apply it. Once I reach my desktop, I get a failure message about loading the correct resolution. Click here for a repair (it says something similar). Pressing it doesn’t work. Thank you for your help.
The manual mentions installation issues related to the PCH Runtime Services. It suggests checking if the graphics card is connected properly, as problems there could cause resolution errors. Possible fixes include removing and reinserting the graphics card or resetting the BIOS settings. Restarting in safe mode may help identify if the problem lies with Windows or the operating system. If the behavior changes, further hardware or software checks are needed.
You're welcome! Just ensure you keep checking, as it might be useful. Appreciate your patience and the time you took to ask. Good luck!
I thought you wouldn't be able to use your system at all. You might want to reinstall your graphics driver. If that doesn<|pad|>, try booting into safe mode and starting the installation or download from there. I recall my Windows 8.1 becoming unstable over time and sometimes failing to boot properly. My approach was a full system reinstall. With a Windows 8 disc or ISO, you could refresh your system, which is essentially a clean install but retains some files. If driver fixes aren't working, I'm not sure what else to try except a full reinstall or refresh.
I attempted that but it started up normally, so when I needed to choose an option I cancelled it to see if I had backed up any files, and things got worse. The fix is not working, I don’t have a LAN connection even though it functions on my laptop. I changed the resolution and it still didn’t match correctly, even after selecting the right one. I lost my Google Chrome; when I right-click my background, I expected to access Nvidia personalization to check SLI mode or single card settings, but that option is missing. I’m struggling to get it back. Maybe you can assist...
The issue didn’t resolve with standard fixes. Playing games on Steam caused a crash and unusual shaking sounds. Reinstalling Windows 8.1 didn’t help, as it displayed a recovery message about missing files. Could be hardware problems or a corrupted installation. Consider checking your system health or seeking further technical support.
sorry, I hadn't much time this weekend. Still sounds like either your windows or one of your graphics cards is broken. I don't really get the message "Missing files for recovery". Maybe your windows installation is corrupt? Or maybe you didn't do a clean installation. There is some installation routine in windows that tries to recover an already installed windows. Here is a tutorial on how to do a clean installation: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...an-install If you still can't install it, there is most likely something wrong with your installation files/medium. Btw. where do you install your windows from? If you get the windows to run but it behaves weird once again, try what I said before about unplugging and removing your graphics card(s) and only use the on board hdmi/dvi/analog connector.
