I currently run Windows 8.1 Pro. My SSD reaches its maximum limit around 250gb and I want every bit. It’s true Win 8.1 Pro has many unused features that aren’t needed. I’m considering switching to an embedded OS because it strips away unnecessary apps—like the multimedia tools, media players, and file managers I don’t use. I don’t need any of those clunky programs. I’ll download only what I require. With this in mind, would installing Windows 8.1 Embedded make sense? Would it give me a slight performance edge during games? Any downsides? Thanks.

To tailor your Windows ISO for performance, you can use software such as NTLite or WinToolkit to make adjustments. For gaming needs, these tools won't provide significant benefits. Additionally, the information suggests that certain drivers, particularly graphics-related ones, might not be supported due to the system's intended use in non-gaming environments like ATMs and POS terminals.

I'll remove all the applications and turn off unnecessary functions.
