Disable HDD indexing and your antivirus/Windows Defender. Review your disk usage.

I feel uneasy about performing an AV scan while the drive is full. Patience is required.

I've completed many AV scans using Norton, but no issues appear.

I've reinstalled Windows several times because it was extremely unstable; even Windows 8.1 would freeze instantly, making it impossible to use.

Find an antivirus that uses less system power. I've seen Windows Defender slow things down and consume a lot of storage, especially with multiple VMs and apps running. Using Avira keeps performance stable without draining resources.

I encountered an issue and checked with winDirStat, discovering a large temporary file exceeding 800GB. After removing it, everything resolved.
