You just added Windows 8.1 and noticed an option for enabling it on your motherboard. It’s a useful setting to consider for performance and compatibility.

Whql refers to Windows Hardware Quality Labs, a Microsoft certification process for drivers. It is not something you adjust in the motherboard BIOS/UEFI or install directly. Your confusion is understandable, so please let me know if you need further clarification.

In the bios section under "S.O Settings," you'll find an option to toggle the "Windows 8.1/10 whql support" setting on or off.

I don't have a motherboard. Can you clarify what you're asking about?

This choice is meant to activate full UEFI functionality. When your system is configured properly and all components support UEFI, you should turn it on and turn off the CSM.
